Solar Eclipse 2012

In May 2012 a solar eclipse hit Reno, Nevada. It was a total eclipse, but more than that it was an “annular” eclipse, meaning the moon was so small that it didn’t cover the sun completely and it left a ring of fire around it where the sun was still visible. We headed out to a park to watch the eclipse with a bunch of friends.

If you’re wondering how to get pictures of the eclipse, it’s pretty simple. I just photographed through the same dark glasses we were using to view it.
